FAQ
Questions people ask
- What are the five love languages?
- Words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service and physical touch. The idea comes from Gary Chapman’s 1992 book; this test uses its own original questions.
- Is this the official love language quiz?
- No. This is an independent quiz with its own questions, not affiliated with Gary Chapman or the publishers of his book.
- What is my love language?
- It is the way you most like to give and receive love. Take the free test above: fifteen either-or questions, and you get a score for each of the five love languages plus a short read on your top one.
- How do I read my love language test result?
- Look at your top language first, then your second: most people have a clear first and a close second. A low score does not mean you dislike that language, only that it matters a little less to you. Each result page lists signs, strengths and what to tell your partner.
- Can couples take the love language test together?
- Yes. Each of you takes it separately, then compare your five scores and talk about the differences. Use the share button on your result to send it to your partner.
- Can I have two love languages?
- Yes. Most people have a clear first and a close second. Your result shows all five scores so you can see both.
- Do I need to give my email?
- No. Your answers stay in your browser and the result appears straight away.
- Can my love language change?
- It can shift with life stage, stress or a new relationship. Taking the test again in a year is a nice check-in.
- Is the love language idea backed by research?
- Studies give it mixed support: people do differ in what they value, but couples who “match” are not clearly happier. Use it as a conversation starter.
